what is Goodie Bag?

"Goodie Bag" is an animation festival and celebration of local artists within the NYC area. It was first started by Amelia Johnson and Carleigh "Cam" MacConnell upon their graduation from Pratt and SVA respectively. Wanting to create a space where their hard work could be celebrated, they decided to host a screening showing off thesis films that contained a huge variety of themes, styles, and people. They figured they'd make it a regular event to bring all their friends together again.

why are you doing this?

Animation is all about diversity, and like with a goodie bag, you never know what to expect with it! We want to continue celebrating and bringing people together through animation and all the wild and weird things people make. Highlighting local animators and strengthening our community is what we want to accomplish by hosting these events, as well as enjoy some cartoons with our friends.

who's doing this?

Amelia Johnson (@meelzart) is a multimedia 2D animator, illustrator, and director based in Brooklyn, NY. Her colorful apocalyptic style is heavily inspired by children's tv shows that used to give her nightmares as a kid. She loves watching videos with friends and is so excited to have more people to do it with 🧙🏻‍♀️

Cam MacConnell (@10bullz) is a 2D animator, character artist, BG artist, and actual vampire. Her passions lie in mixing her work with 3D and making her weird little ideas come to life, she is most looking forward to seeing everyone else’s weird little ideas in Goodie Bag 🧛🏻‍♀️
