Submission guidelines for: UPCOMING 2025 GOODIE BAG

 

“TANGIBLE” is our 2025 theme for Goodie Bag this year, which means we expect you to touch grass for this assignment.

No seriously. We want this year’s theme to reflect both of our interests in multimedia animation, and figured the best way to achieve was to put out a call for all things TOUCHABLE, TANGIBLE, and TEXTURAL!! We want you to take whatever your typical medium is (2D or 3D animation for example) and mix it with something that is REAL! Or, try something totally new thats all physical.

Think claymation, puppets, found object, glitter, fabric, textiles, tissue paper, origami, papercut, pixelation, sand, classic paper animation with some unconventional way of drawing it. Bust out those watercolors, pastels, oils, or copics you haven’t used since highschool, whatever you want as long as YOU make it with YOUR HANDS! We are encouraging ANY element of tangible reality to a typical animation! Get creative with editing, software, and making it work for your workflow.

Music videos, abstract nonsense, comedy sketches, small moments, explorations, and experiments highly encouraged.

• Multimedia projects containing BOTH 2D/3D and any physical medium

• Animated mediums that contain physical mediums

Specs:

• 1920 x 1080 @ 300ppi, RGB

• 24Fps

• 48 khz

• Submit as a mp4/H.264

• Length: No cap, MINIMUM 45 seconds

Guidelines:

• NO GENERATIVE AI UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! No brainer

• Do NOT submit a demo reel​

• We do NOT want thesis films or films associated with schoolwork

• Must be AT LEAST 45 seconds (not including credits)

• Must be fully completed animation

• Group films are encouraged!

• Films from the last year that meets our criteria are encouraged!

• Copyrighted music is allowed, this showcase will not be published anywhere else or streamed

• To attend the showcase on September 13th, you MUST be 21+
